Our Mission

The name ‘AmaRaya’ comes from the Lebanese term for the lunar night, ‘Qamariya’, a symbol of ritual, nurture and care – the essence of AmaRaya products.

Founder Raya Frem created AmaRaya to adapt the most effective hair treatments and traditions from around the East Mediterranean into new, targeted, clinical formulas.

The result is a collection of multi-tasking treatments that tackle a variety of clinical hair care requirements, while also supercharging hydration and growth.

Our Vision

Founder Raya Frem created AmaRaya as a way to combine the worlds of targeted, clinical formulas with her own wellness journey, resulting in a collection of multi-tasking products to tackle a variety of hair care needs. She worked with one of the industry’s leading laboratories to gain in-depth industry knowledge on the best sustainable ingredients, which are harnessed in the lab for maximum potency.

Clinically Driven

Every product in the AmaRaya range contains the brand’s unique complex, comprising cutting-edge technology and supercharged actives that are combined with powerful botanicals, stem cells, peptides and organic oils from across the world. All of which are channelled into targeted formulas to deliver a number of hair and scalp benefits.For example, the complex promotes fuller, stronger and healthier hair through increasing blood flow to the hair follicles and balancing the scalp microbiome. Additionally, it protects the hair from free radical damage caused by environmental aggressors, while being deeply hydrating and boosting shine.

Drawing on Raya’s culture, AmaRaya is inspired by three universal symbols – most notably

Moon - Qamar

Which is traditionally linked to nurturing and care. The name ‘AmaRaya’ is actually inspired by the Lebanese term for lunar night ‘Qamariya’- the main element is the moon: ‘Qamar’. It’s a very mesmerising element in Middle Eastern culture, historically used by travellers at night to help guide their way. Raya herself looks to the moon to feel inspired and the AmaRaya range is a tribute to this – especially the products used for evening rituals and overnight treatments to soothe the scalp and restore dry, damaged hair.

Light - Daw

Another symbol is light (‘Daw’), which focuses on life and growth. As Lebanon is situatedalong the Mediterranean coast, Raya grew up with sunshine in abundance, which is reflected in AmaRaya’s daytime products and targeted solutions for issues to boost hair growth and thickness. Just as nature needs sunshine to flourish, AmaRaya’s formulas work to replenish and rejuvenate, for fuller, more radiant hair.

Water - May

is emblematic of calm, purity and transformation. As Raya lived most of her life by the coast, she had sea views from every vantage point. Her love for the ocean is incorporated into AmaRaya’s multi-tasking treatment range, products which can be treatment-based or rinsed off to deliver a number of benefits.

Good for you and the environment

AmaRaya cares about the planet and it's people, while striving to help make the beauty world more eco-friendly. All their formulas prioritise sustainability, while being devoid of questionable ingredients (silicones, parabens, mineral oil and palm oil), nor any known irritants such as colour and artificial fragrance.Furthermore, all packaging is recyclable (when separated), and features cardboard approved by the Forest Stewardship Council.
A range with philanthropy at its heart, AmaRaya follows an eco-friendly, vegan and cruelty free ethos. AmaRaya supports several charities, giving back to local farming communities in Lebanon, as well as backing children’s educational programmes and helping parents (particularly mothers) secure viable employment, where they receive a fair wage as well as nurture their talents.
